Hello friends! “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities” (Psalm 103:8-10). How good is our God? Because He is so loving, compassionate, and forgiving, I can approach Him as I am.
Carrying Burdens of Others and My Own Load
I often feel burdened and lonely as I serve as a team leader at SOON Movement. In addition to campus ministry, I take on many small and big responsibilities as a team leader, and I often feel overwhelmed and lonely as a result.
However, God knew my heart and spoke to me; “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ… Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else…” (Galatians 6:2-4).
As I meditated on this passage, I realized that, as a team leader, I was called to carry other staffs’ burdens with love and take on my own load of work faithfully by constantly examining it before God. ‘Have I been carrying others’ burdens with love? Have I been serving God with a right attitude?’ I realized that I had been serving God in a very self-centered way. I repented. Please, pray that I would carry others’ burdens and take my own load of work faithfully before God no matter how heavy work gets. Thank you!
Freshmen’s Commitment to Live a Christ-centered Life
It’s been a great joy leading discipleship small groups at Queens College and St. John’s University. It’s been especially a blessing having a small group with freshman girls at Queens College.
At our first meeting at Queens College, I shared Gospel with the freshman girls and explained to them that believing in Jesus means turning away from our sins and following Christ, committing to live a Christ-centered life. When I challenged them to live a Christ-centered life, they were hesitant at first. One girl, J, became teary and shared that she often feels unworthy to live such a life. Other 3 girls shared that they don’t think they can live such life with their effort. When I explained to them that they just need to commit to live a Christ centered life and ask God to help them to live a such life, they opened up their hearts more. At last, when I asked them to closed their eyes and raise hands if they would commit to live a Christ centered life, they all raised their hands! I was so amazed and blessed!
I know that God does amazing things in life when we commit to live a Christ centered life. I am excited to see what God would do in their lives from now on! Please pray for them!
